Melanie Collins has been competing in Agility for almost a decade, amassing a long list of accomplishments and over 50 titles across her five dogs. Theo, her very first agility dog, was 2025 Queensland Elite State Champion for both Jumping and Agility, and has Agility Championship titles across both ADAA and ANKC. What to expect
Tryout Night
Watch experienced dogs on the course, chat with instructors and other club members, and give it a go with your dog!
Beginner Course
The course builds strong foundations for both dogs and handlers over 8 weeks. Starting with flatwork, focus, and basic handling skills, teams are gradually introduced to jumps, tunnels, sequencing, and essential handling techniques including front, rear, and blind crosses.
Dogs learn confidence, independence, and forward focus through shaping and positive reinforcement. As the course progresses, contact training (including the 2o2o position), low a-frame work, and introductory weave poles (2x2 method) are introduced.
By the end of the course, dogs can confidently sequence 6–8 obstacles, understand key agility concepts, and work with engagement and enthusiasm—setting them up perfectly for future agility success.
